About Me

Back to Home

I am a highly versatile and experienced illustrator and graphic artist based on the coast of Suffolk, UK.

I am married with two grown up children, chickens and a studio cat.

I come from a creative family; both my mother and grandmother were highly collected artists and my father a photographer. I was always surrounded by beautiful books as my parents were avid collectors of old children's books. They also ran a highly acclaimed gallery in the late 70's in Norwich, so I grew up in a wonderful creative background of artists, printmakers, potters and sculptors.

Since graduating from Great Yarmouth College of Art in 1990, with an HND in Graphic design, I have built up an eclectic and exciting portfolio designing and illustrating everything from picture books and book covers, to seed packets, greetings cards and private commissions and much more.

In 2007 I was awarded an RHS Silver Gilt Medal at the Chelsea Flower Show for and exhibit that I designed, illustrated and constructed for Thompson & Morgan UK.

I work in a traditional style mainly by hand, in vibrant inks to soft colour pencil. I find inspiration in the natural world, countryside and shoreline, myths and legends, and from both modern and classic children's stories .

In January of 2017 I was a finalist in the Stratford Literary Festival picture book competition for my own story 'The Owl who wanted to sing' some pages of this are viewable under the book section on this website.

Symphony Hollow, written by Jessica Reino with my illustrations was published by Spork in 2017. I have illustrated Everbody Counts and Senor Saguaro for The Little Fig LLC in the US which hopefully will be out soon.

I also paint sculptures for public art trails with Wild in Art.

My list of clients include - The Little Fig LLC, Spork Publishing, NHS Colchester and Ipswich Hospital, Wild In Art, Genesis Plant Marketing, Mr Fotherghill's seeds, Thompson and Morgan UK, Books To Treasure, Cybermouse Publishing, The Blue Campaign, Colchester and Ispwich Museum Service, Ipswich Town Football Club, Suffolk County Council, Ipswich Borough Council, Cooper BMW, Birkett's Solicitors, Wyards Removals.
